Learn by experience! The Waring House recreational cooking classes are suitable for all levels of cooking expertise.  You are invited to expand your culinary repertoire, and learn new skills and chef techniques.

Each class features a particular culinary subject, food type, region, ingredient or theme.  Many of our classes feature fresh, local ingredients — some picked that day at farms just down the road from the cookery school, or from our own Waring House garden.

Thursday classes ($95 plus gratuities, plus taxes) feature a sit-down dinner and wine, while Sunday classes ($75 plus gratuities, plus taxes) focus on the lighter side, such as hors d’oeuvres or quick and easy meals. Coming from out of town? We have great cookery school packages that include accommodation and dining.

Cookery classes can be a great team building exercise or a way to spend some time with a group of friends, relatives or business associates. We offer private classes for groups of 6 or more. For information on booking a private cooking class for your group, email events@waringhouse.com

Thursday, October 4th - Turkey Secrets

Tired of dry, overcooked, and bland turkey? This class will show you the secrets of cooking the perfect holiday bird. We will make a mini thanksgiving spread feature the tastiest turkey ever and some of our favorite holiday dinner recipes.

Sunday October 28th - Chili Cookoff

What do chef's think of chili? Learn the pro secrets of extracting the most flavor out of a pot of red. We will dive into selecting the right beef, working with spices, and how to build layers of flavor. Don't forget the heat!
